Congratulations to Windham Middle and High School students of Team 3467 – The Windham Windup, for their Finalist Award, second place finish, and for their Quality Award at last weekend’s Granite State District Event! Hosted by Salem High School in Salem, NH on Friday, March 4, and Saturday, March 5, Windham worked hard throughout the weekend competing with 39 teams and winning 8 of their 12 qualifying matches, becoming the 6th seed. On Saturday afternoon, they were the second overall pick and second seeded alliance, having been selected by Team 95 of White River Junction, VT.
Windham Windup had a 7-match win streak that sent them into the finals and competed in an alliance with Team 95 and also Team 151 out of Nashua, NH and later lost in the finals in a well-fought, best two-out-of-three match. They ended the day with a second-place finish, Finalist Award, and Quality Award for their engineering design, fabrication, and performance. Windham is looking forward to competing at their next regional event at Thomas College in Waterville, ME and is currently ranked fourth in the New England District. Their hope is to compete in the District Championship in April, move ahead to Worlds in Texas, with their international peers from around the globe, where 40 countries are represented.
